Kathmandu to Hold the Kalinga Literary Festival

New Delhi: On October 15 and 16, the Kalinga Literary Festival will organise the annual Kalinga Literary Festival Kathmandu (KLF-Kathmandu). The Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF), which takes place every year and is one of the top literary festivals in the world, will this year host an edition in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The Kalinga Literary Festival in Kathmandu will advance the ongoing cultural exchange, religious understanding, and literary viewpoint between Nepal and India.

Kalinga-Kathmandu The Kalinga Literary Festival was founded by Yashswi Sahitya Sanman in collaboration with the Yashaswi Foundation of Nepal. The prize has been a creative method to recognize and honor both nations' literary legends. Legendary Indian writer Ashok Vajpeyi and Legendary Nepalese writer Satya Mohan Joshi will get the Kalinga-Kathmandu Yashswi Sahitya Sanman this year.

Kalinga Literary Festival is well known for its socially relevant themes and in a way compels all ‘creative’ people to think and articulate ‘the contemporary. Like its past editions the KLF in India, KLF Kathamndu this year also has a hard-hitting theme for writers, poets, and artists to ponder. The Central Theme of the Festival will be “India & Nepal: Journey of Civilizations and Search for the Soul”. Key Note Speakers of the festival on the Central theme are noted writers Tulasi Diwasa, Ashok Vajpeyi, and Kanak Mani Dixit.

Other significant sessions in the two festivals include "India - Nepal Civilizational Relationship - The Way Forward," "Publishing in Digital Era: New Possibilities New Challenges," "The Role of Media for strengthening Indo-Nepal Relationship," "Spiritualism, Culture, Literature: The Connecting Points of Nepal and India," "Revisiting Nepal in Indian Mythology," and "Women Spiritual Masters: Why they Matter."

Two lectures will be given, "Verses from Everywhere and Nowhere" by Sudha Gopalakrishnan and "Expansion of Ancient Indian Heritage in the Himalayas: Literary Migration and Perpetuation of Knowledge" by Dr. Shanker Thapa. With Bollywood actor, and lyricist Piyush Mishra, Hindi lyricist Raj Sekhar, Indian folk singer Malini Awasthi, former Indian ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae, Ashok Vajpeyi, and others, there were some interesting talk sessions. 

Recitation of poetry in the languages of Nepali, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Hindi, and English. The Vyomesh Shukla and Artists of Roopvani from Varanasi will present Theatre Ram Ki Shakti Puja.

Legendary writers from India including Ashok Vajpayee, Arun Kamal, Ranjit Rae, Anand Nelkanthan, OM Tanvi, Gagam Gill, Malini Awasthi, Dr. Sudha Gopalakrishnan, Ashok Maheswari (MD Rajkamal Prakashan), Satyanand Nirupam (Editorial Director, Rajkamal Prakashan Group), noted Bollywood actor, lyricist Piyush Mishra, Raj.

To honor the spirit of Lord Shiva and Gautama Buddha within the context of Nepal-India literary links, Yashaswi Prangya Pratisthan, Himalayan Diary Pvt Ltd, Rastrika Sahitya Pratisthan, and Nepal - Kalinga Literary Festival collaborate on the KLF Kathmandu Edition. The celebration will emphasize Nepal's illustrious heritage.

Kathmandu's Kalinga Literary Festival will feature poetry, music, dance, and other cultural forms. For those who enjoy poetry, art, music, dance, and literature, it will be a once-in-a-lifetime event. According to KLF Founder and Director Rashmi Ranjan Parida, the Festival will honor the long-standing relationships between Nepal and India in the context of developing global cultures.

Perhaps never before in history will literature, culture, art, and history come together to link the territories of India and Nepal. The festival's main themes will be spirituality, art, culture, Shiv Tatwa, Ram Katha, Buddha, and promotion of the historical ties between Nepal and India (from Lumbini to Lal Ded, from Pashupatinath to Puri, from Kashi to Kathmandu, from Bodhgaya to Bodhnath, and other prosperous ties that have endured for many ages). 

These are the dominant and minority cultures of two dynamic, developing countries. The KLF Kathmandu is interested in recruiting around 30 renowned writers and cultural leaders from India. Every year, speakers from the festival's host nation, Nepal, make up around 70% of the lineup.
